SFP Transceiver Technical Overview

The SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) transceivers are high-performance, cost-optimized optical modules designed to support data rates of 1.25 Gbps over a 20 km transmission distance using 9/125μm single-mode fiber (SMF).

Each transceiver integrates three key functional blocks:

1. A laser transmitter for high-speed optical signal generation.
2. A PIN photodiode coupled with a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) for efficient signal reception.
3. A Digital Diagnostic Monitoring Interface (DDMI) control unit for real-time performance tracking.

All modules comply with Class I laser safety standards (per IEC 60825-1 / FDA 21 CFR 1040.10), ensuring eye-safe operation under normal operating conditions.
