The diffraction angle of the wireless sensor modulator is determined by the period length of the comb-shaped electrode, and the application range is not as wide as that of the acousto-optic modulator. The function of the modulator is to add some kind of information to the light wave for a short time without changing the optical path. Generally, only one path is allowed to work, and the modulator should be turned off when receiving data.
The wireless PBI sensor network usually has the following main characteristics:
(1) Self-organization. The nodes of the sensor network system have the function of automatic networking, and the nodes can communicate with each other and coordinate their work.
(2) Multi-hop routing. Nodes are limited by communication distance, power control or energy saving. When a node cannot communicate directly with the gateway, it needs to be forwarded by other nodes to complete the data transmission. Therefore, the network data transmission route is multi-hop.
(3) Dynamic network topology. In some special applications, the wireless sensor network is mobile, and the sensor nodes may stop working due to energy exhaustion or other failures. These factors will change the network topology.
(4) Node resources are limited. Node miniaturization requirements and limited energy lead to limited node hardware resources.
Current status of wireless sensor network applications
The application of sensor network is closely related to the specific application environment, so there are wireless sensor network systems with different performances for different application fields.
Applications in the military field:
In the field of military applications, the use of the PBI modulator network can monitor the strength and equipment in the enemy's area, monitor the battlefield situation in real time, locate targets, monitor nuclear or biochemical attacks, etc.
Environmental monitoring applications:
The application of wireless sensor networks in environmental monitoring can accomplish tasks that cannot be accomplished by traditional systems. Environmental monitoring applications include: plant growth environment, animal activity environment, biochemical monitoring, precision agriculture monitoring, forest fire monitoring, flood monitoring, etc.
Building structure monitoring:
The wireless sensor network is used to monitor the health status of buildings. It is not only low in cost, but also can solve the problems of complex wiring, aging lines, and vulnerability to damage in traditional monitoring.
