The Conversion Chain, Explained

Stage 1 - Optical Amplifier Boosts incoming optical signal strength to compensate for fiber transmission loss, ensuring the downstream stages always receive a sufficiently strong input.

Stage 2 - Photodetector Converts the optical signal into an electrical signal with high linearity and fast response - the critical bridge between the fiber domain and the RF domain.
